‘Army will have to get ready for supreme sacrifice’

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: Chief of Army Staff Aziz Ahmed said, “The members of Bangladesh Army will have to get ready for supreme sacrifice for the nation.”
The army chief made this comment while addressing regimental colour handing ceremony at Halishahor artillery centre training ground in Chattogram on Wednesday.
Aziz said the works for modernization, restructure and expansion of Bangladesh army are on as per defence strategy framed by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1974 and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in 2018.
He said Bangladesh army had relentlessly been working imbued with sprits and ideals of great liberation struggle in 1971.
He also recalled the outstanding contributions of the Bangladesh Army during the country’s Liberation War in 1971.
The hour-long ceremony for 1, 2, 3, field regiment artillery and 38 air regiment artillery were held with the spirit of stimulating sounds of drums and instruments and singing of patriotic songs which enthralled the high civil and military officials attending the ceremony.
In the first time, the members 1, 2, 3, field regiments artillery and 38 air regiment received respective regimental colour flag from the hand of the chief guest.
