BNP Senior Vice-chairman Tarique Rahman
Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court on Monday issued an arrest warrant against BNP Senior Vice-chairman Tarique Rahman and two others in sedition case filed with the Tejgaon police.
Judge Kamrul Hossain Mollah of the Sessions Judges Court passed the order after accepting the charge sheet in the sedition case.
The two others accused in the case are, former ETV chief reporter Mahathir Faruqui Khan and Kanak Sarwar.
Public prosecutor Taposh Kumar Paul said that Ekushey TV former chairman Abdus Salam, also an accused in the case, is now on bail.
On 8 January 2015, the treason case was filed with Tejgaon police station over the live telecast of a provocative speech by Tarique at a programme in London on 5 January.
