Arson attack on school: Main suspect on 3-day remand

Gaibandha Correspondent:  A Gaibandha court has granted a three-day remand for Ranju Miah (32), the main suspected offender, in connection with the arson attack on a girls' school at Kunderpara in the district.

Ranju Miah is the son of Md Mojibur Rahman, a resident of Kunderpara Pardiyara village.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of Gaibandha court Moinul Hasan Eusuf passed the order on Tuesday noon after police produced him before his court seeking a seven-day remand to interrogate him.

Miscreants torched Gana Unnayan Academy High School on fire on Thursday.

Headmaster Asaduzzaman of the school filed a violence case with local police station over the attack.

Later on Sunday, police arrested Ranju from his residence in connection with the attack.
