Asia Cup-2018: Afghanistan, Sri Lanka in Bangladesh's group

Sports Correspondent: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will host the Asia Cup-2018 to be held from September 13 to 28.

The league episode will be held till September 28. Asia's giants will compete in the fight to prove superiority.

All the games will be held in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Six nations of Asia will participate in the one-day format event. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan will take part in the competition directly while the winner of Asia Cup qualifier of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Hong Kong, Nepal and Oman will join the five nations.

The teams in the competition have been divided into two groups.

In group A, India, Pakistan and the Qualifier Team will compete while in group B, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka will fight each other, according to sources.

Each team will play two matches in group level game. The top two teams of the two groups will compete in the super 4 round and every team will play three matches in the stage.

Top two teams on the point table will fight in the final match to clinch the title.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) also arranged the Asia Cup-2008 in Pakistan on the same format.

Bangladesh will take Sri Lanka in the first match at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on September 18 and the next match will be held against Afghanistan on September 21.

India and Pakistan will also fight each other on September 21.
