Aussies to be accompanied by 3 security managers, a chef

Sports Desk: Australia are scheduled to arrive in Dhaka tonight (Friday) for a two-match Test series against Tigers. Aussies have already flown for Bangladesh from Darwin.

The Australian cricket team will be accompanied by at least three security officials and a chef, according to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

As per the team list BCB has provided, the Australian team will have 18 officials for 14 players.

The tour party includes security managers Sean Carroll, Francesco Dimasi and Robert Simmons along with chef Alatamash Iqbal.

Security has been one of the core issues from the very beginning of Australia tour, the BCB officials said they were not astonished by the presence of so many security officials.

The presence of a chef with a visiting side is, however, a rare thing, said a BCB official.

“We assume his role would be suggesting the cooks about the food preference of players in hotel and ground. It is not completely a new thing in Bangladesh though. Earlier, India team also bought a chef when they visited us,” said the official.
