Australia shifts visa centre to New Delhli from Dhaka

Secretariat Correspondent: After Canada and Britain, now the Australia government has shifted its visa centre from Dhaka to New Delhi.

The decision came into effective since Thursday (July 19), according to the sources of Foreign Ministry.

From now, Australia Mission in New Delhi will provide different services including visa, interview and other consular related assignment to Bangladeshi people.

Only Visa Facilitation Services (VFS) centres nominated by Australia High Commission in Dhaka will accept application for visa and will deliver passport after decision is taken by New Delhi Australia Mission.

According to Foreign Ministry sources, the Emigration Department of Australia took decision to set up a single visa centre for several countries regionally to reduce the cost.

It may be mentioned, several years ago, Australia removed its visa centres from USA and Canada.
