BAF plane crashes: Scattered body parts of 2 pilots found

Staff Correspondent, Jashore: Scattered body parts of two pilots of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) training aircraft were found on Monday noon.

Fire Service's Jessore Station Assistant Director Parimal Chandra Kundu said the body parts of the two pilots were found.

"Meanwhile, 35 percent parts of the crashed aircraft were also recovered. However, the engine of the aircraft is not found yet," he said.

The two pilots were- Squadron Leader Md Serajul Islam, hailed from Rajbari district and Squadron Leader Enayet Kabir Polash, son of Safiuddin, hailed from Krishnapur village under Sarishabari upazil of Jamalpur.



Earlier Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) of Bangladesh Army in press release said, an aircraft (K-8W) of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) crashed at Book Bhora Baor (water body) under Sadar upazila on Sunday night. The aircraft took off from BAF Base BS Matiur Rahman was on a night training mission. There were two pilots in the aircraft.

Abul Bashar Mia, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Model Police Station said that on information police and fire service team rushed to the spot on Sunday night.
