BCB in search of coach from outside India sub-continent

Sports Correspondent, From London: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have cut ties with head coach Steve Rhodes with mutual understanding, following team’s poor performance in England World Cup. Rhodes officially left Bangladesh on Thursday.

BCB are now searching for a coach from outside India sub-continent who has experience in the sub-continent.

Meanwhile, BCB have already contacted Pakistan’s incumbent coach Mickey Arthur and former New Zealand spin all-rounder Daniel Vettori.

Reliable sources confirmed the matter to risingbd.

Sources said, “Pakistan has yet to renew the contact following the side’s World Cup tour. There is also no certainty whether Arthur will renew the contact with Pakistan.

Journalists who are currently staying in England to cover World Cup said that there is a hardly possibility for Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to renew contact with Arthur.  He (Arthur) had coaching experience in Bangladesh as he was the head coach of Dhaka Dynamites for BPL’s third-edition.

Sources said, “A BCB delegation met Arthur following Bangladesh vs Pakistan match at Lords. However, all are on the table of discussion.”

Daniel Vettori is also in the list of BCB choices. He, however, has no experience of coaching a national team. He performed at Royal Challengers Bengaluru of IPL, Brisbane Hit of Big Bash. He was supposed to be head of Rajshahi Kings for BPL last edition. But finally, he was not with the franchise.

This time, BCB is very much alert to select coach. It will not take any rush decision over the matter. BCB will select the head coach aiming at Australia T-20 World Cup to be held next year.
