BGB-BGP holding flag meeting over border tension

Cox's Bazar Correspondent: A flag meeting has started between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Guard Police (BGP) of Myanmar over the volatile situation along Tombru border.
The meeting started around 3:15pm at Ghumdhum Border Observation Post (BOP), adjacent to Bangladesh-Myanmar Alliance Bridge inside Bangladesh.
Lt Col Manjurul Ahsan Khan, commanding officer of BGB battalion-34, confirmed the news.
A five member delegation from each country attended the flag meeting, he said.
Lt Col Manjurul Ahsan Khan is leading the Bangladesh delegation.
He said, "Bangladesh will ask Myanmar's BGP why they deployed additional forces along border without any provocation from Bangladesh. Besides, discussion will be held to keep the border area normal and calm."
BGB has been put on alert to fight any unwanted situation along the border, Manjurul Ahsan Khan said.
