BNP candidate Sarwar boycotts Barishal polls

Staff Correspondent, Barisal: BNP backed mayoral candidate Advocate Mujibur Rahman Sarwar has declared the city election boycott.

Sarwar announced the decision at a press conference in Barisal Press Club around 12:00pm on Monday complaining of widespread rigging by Awami League leaders and activists.

Later, BNP men besized election commission office and staged protest programme. 

Besides, Islami Andolan Bangladesh candidate for Barisal City Corporation, Maulana Obaidur Rahman quits the polls raising the complaint of vote rigging.

In the press conference, Sarwar said, "BNP polling agents were kicked out from at least 50 voting centres. Even, BNP men were beaten outside of the voting centers."
