BNP expels Zahidur Rahman for taking oath

Senior Correspondent: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has expelled its newly elected lawmaker Zahidur Rahman for taking oath violating the party’s decision.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the disclosure while addressing reporters after a meeting with party’s National Standing Committee at Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office on Saturday night.
Fakhrul said, “Our decided not to take oath in this parliament. Zahidur Rahman Zahid took oath from Thakurgaon-3 seat violating the decision. And, we expelled him from the party according to the party decision.”
Earlier, BNP’s National Standing Committee meeting started around 7:00pm. Standing Committee member Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain, Moudud Ahmed, Jamir Uddin Sarker, Mahbubur Rahman, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Abdul Moin, Nazrul Islam Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury attended the meeting.
