BNP forms human chain in protest of JS Session

Staff Correspondent: Leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) have formed a human chain in the city protesting the start of the maiden session of the 11th parliament.

Leaders and followers of the party formed the human chain in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Wednesday morning.

The leaders and activists chanted different slogans demanding reelection and release of their chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail.

Following the human chain, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and standing committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Moudud Ahmed, Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain were, among others, addressed the programme.

BNP leaders said, “Vote rigging was happened on the night of December 29, hours before beginning voting for 11th parliament election scheduled on December 30.”

They said, “There is no legality of the parliament formed by the December 30 polls.”

They also threatened to wage movement to make free their confined leader Khaleda Zia, chairperson of the party, from jail, rejecting any polls.
