BNP leader Ripon sent to jail after surrender

Staff Correspondent: BNP Special Secretary Dr Asaduzzaman Ripon was sent jail after a Dhaka court denied him bail in four sabotage cases.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Kayes passed the order after hearing on Monday.

Asaduzzaman Ripon’s lawyer Zillur Rahman moved for him in the court. 

Earlier, four cases were filed on charge of sabotage activities centering the verdict against Khaleda Zia in Zia Orphanage Trust Corruption case.

The High Court granted bail to him in the four cases. Later, he surrendered before the court and sought bail in the cases.
