BNP patronize Aug 21 attack: Hanif

Senior Correspondent: Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said that the grenade attack took place in the rally of then opposition leader Sheikh Hasina on August 21 in 2004 under the patronage of BNP.

The AL leader came up with the assertion while addressing a programme organized by Swechha Sebak League in capital’s Manik Mia Avenue on Saturday noon.

Mahbub-ul-Alam said, “BNP-Jamaat clique, who patronized the series bombings, is still hatching conspiracy against the country. Awami League along with the common people will resist all conspiracies.”

He also said that the August 21, 2004 grenade attack on Awami League rally and August 17, 2005 countrywide series bombings were carried out under patronage of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI.

Awami League Swechchhasebak League president Mollah Md Abu Kausar presided over the program where Dhaka City North unit of Swechchhasebak League President Mobashwer Chowdhury and others attended.
