BNP stages 'black-flag' procession in capital

Senior Correspondent: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Sunday brought out 'black-flag' procession in the capital protesting the August 21 verdict against BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman.
Following previous announcement, the party started the procession around 7:30am from capital's Kalyanpur road. BNP Senior Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi led the procession.
Around three hundred leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal, Juba Dal and Swecchasebak Dal joined the programme. Meanwhile, they demanded withdrawal of cases against Tarique Rahman.
Dhaka’s First Speedy Trial Tribunal sentenced 19 people to death, including BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman– to life imprisonment in the August 21 grenade attack cases.
