BNP stages demo demanding Khaleda Zia's release

Senior Correspondent: Leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) have staged demonstration in the capital demanding immediate release of the party chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail.
A procession led by the party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and standing committee member Mirza Abbas was brought out from Hossain Market area of Badda and ended it through a rally at Madhya Badda on Sunday noon.
Dhaka city Jubo Dal (North) secretary general Ahsan Ullah Ahsan, vice-president Munshi Bazlul Basit Anju, joint secretary general Shamim Parvez Misti, organising secretary Anwaruzzaman Anwar, Jubo Dal president Saiful Alam Nirob, its general secretary Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, Swechchha-sebak Dal general secretary Abdul Quader Bhuiyan Jewel, general secretary of Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha Helal Khan, Dhaka city Jubo Dal (North) president S M Jahangir Hossain, its general secretary Shafiqul Islam Milton among others joined the demonstration.
The leaders and activists were chanting various slogans demanding BNP chief Khaleda Zia's release from jail.
the party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul said in the rally, "BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was sentenced just for political revenge. She is seriously sick in jail. But she is not being provided better treatment."
"We demand treatment for her at the United Hospital in the capital and immediate release from jail," he added.
