BNP's 39th founding anniversary today

Senior Correspondent: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) celebrates its 39th founding anniversary on Friday.

In a statement, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, congratulated the people of the country, party leaders and activists as well as well-wishers on the occasion.

At 6.00am, the party flag will be hoisted atop its Nayapaltan central office and all other offices of BNP all over the country while BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir along with party leaders and activists will place wreaths and offer fateha at the grave of Ziaur Rahman at 9.30am.

BNP and its associate organizations arranged several programs on this occasion including, hoisting party flag and placing wreaths at the grave of the party founder.

BNP Chairperson's media wing member Shayrul Kabir Khan told risingbd.com that BNP Chief Khaleda Zia is staying in London now. That’s why BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir along with party leaders and activists will place floral wreath at the grave of the party founder Ziaur Rahman.

On September 1, 1978, late President Ziaur Rahman founded the party wooing leaders and activists from different parties with a 19-point programme.
