BNP’s reaction over new EC tonight

Senior Correspondent: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will give its reaction over the newly constituted Election Commission (EC) tonight.

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is expected to sit with party’s vice chairman and top leaders of the BNP-led 20-party combine tonight (Tuesday night). 

Then, BNP would give its reaction over the new EC after the meeting.

The media was briefed about this during a meeting with party standing committee members at BNP Chairperson’s Gulshan office on Monday night.

BNP chairperson press wing member Shamsuddin Dider told reporters that the party would give its reaction over the new EC after a meeting with top leaders of the BNP-led 20-party combine tonight.

Former secretary KM Nurul Huda has been chosen to lead the new Election Commission and Mahbub Talukder, former additional secretary; Md Rafiqul Islam, ex-secretary; Begum Kabita Khanam, former district and sessions judge; and Brig Gen (retd) Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury have been appointed as the four other election commissioners.
