BPC achieves maximum profit while BPDB makes loss

Economic Correspondent: Among state-owned non-financial institutions, the country's oil importing agency Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) has achieved a maximum profit in the current fiscal year 2016-17 while Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) faced a great loss.

According to the information from Bangladesh Economic Survey-2017, the BPC has made a net profit of TK 7,334.13 crore till April in the current fiscal year while the BPDB made a great loss of TK 5,141.27 crore.

In the fiscal year 2015-16, the BPC made a profit of TK 9,040.7 crore although its profit has reduced to TK 1,706.57 crore in the current fiscal year.

On the other hand, the BPDB witnessed an opposite picture in terms of loss. In the fiscal year 2015-16, the BPDB made a loss of TK 3,866.76 crore while its loss has increased to TK 1,274.51 crore in the current fiscal year.
