Ban on motorcycle movement from Tuesday

Staff Correspondent: Dhaka metropolitan police slapped a ban on motorcycle movement from midnight of February 26 (Tuesday) to March 1 for the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) election. 

A letter signed by EC deputy secretary Atiur Rahman confirmed the matter.

All vehicles in the election areas will be shut from February 27-28, according to the letter from Election Commission.  The vehicles for which bans will be effected: auto-rickshaws, easy-bikes, cars, microbuses, buses, trucks, and all other locally operated motor run vehicles.

However, the ban will not applicable to candidates, their agents, or election observers with accredited ID cards, if they have permission from the returning officers.
