Banani fire under control after 5 hrs

Senior Correspondent: The fire broken at FR Tower in the capital’s Banani was brought under control at 5:45pm on Thursday, after frantic efforts of five hours.
However, the blaze could not be doused fully. Fire was seen somewhere in the building.
In the evening, Mizanur Rahman, duty officer of Fire Service, said, “The fire was under control, but the blaze was not doused 100 percent. Smoke is still being seen. It needs time to bring the fire under control fully. However, now there is no scope to spread the fire. The fire was controlled with frantic efforts of 22 units of Fire Service.”
The fire originated at around 12:55pm, killing at least seven people. Members of Army and Air Force joined the rescue operation.
