Sports Desk: Tigresses clinch Ireland series 2-0 with another four-wicket victory in the second T20 at Dublin.
They had earlier won the first T20 on Thursday by four wickets as well when Jahanara Alam became the first Bangladeshi woman to claim a five-wicket haul in international cricket.
On Friday, Bangladesh restricted Ireland Women to 124 for eight in 20 overs as Jahanara and Nahida Akhter bagged two wickets each.
In reply, Tigresses lost opener Ayasha Rahman in the third over but a second-wicket 75-run partnership between Shamima Sultana and Fargana Haque got the Tigresses close to victory. Bangladesh lost a flurry of wickets after that second-wicket partnership but eventually coasted to victory with four wickets in hand and five deliveries to spare.
Shamima top-scored with a 49-balll 51 while Fargana played a handy knock of 36 from 34 deliveries.
The third and final match of the series will be played on Sunday, July 1 at Sydney Parade in Dublin.
