Afif’s half century propels Tigers to win 3-wicket victory

Sports Desk: Half century by Afif Hossain have propelled Bangladesh to register a three-wicket victory in the first match of T20 Tri-Series 2019.

Batsman Afif Hossain scored 52 runs playing only 26 balls at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka on Friday. 

Besides, opener Liton Das managed to score 19 runs facing 14 balls while Mosaddek Hossain took 30 runs and remained unbeaten.

Earlier, Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and opted to bowl in the truncated opening match of the T20I tri-series. The game was reduced to 18 overs per-side due to rain. Zimbabwe managed to score 144 runs losing five wickets in 18 overs.

For Bangladesh, Taijul Islam, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mustafizur Rahman and Mosaddek Hossain shared a wicket.

Afif Hossain was awarded man of the match for his outstanding performance.
