Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by 48 runs

Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by 48 runs in the first game of their two-match T20 series at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Monday.

Tigers, thanks to two quick fifties of Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar, scored 200 runs for three wickets in 20 vers.

In chase, Zimbabwe managed to 152 runs losing all wickets with remaining 6 balls left.

For Bangladesh, Soumya (unbeaten) hit a brilliant innings of 62 runs off 32 balls with 4 fours and 5 sixes.

Opener Liton Das also scored a quick innings of 59 runs from 39 balls which includes 5 fours and 3 sixes.

Opener Tamim Iqbal also hit a brisk innings. He scored 41 runs off 33 balls with 3 fours and two sixes.

Mushfiqur Rahim scored 17 runs while Mahmudullah Riyad 14 runs.

Earlier, Zimbabwe won the toss and opted to bowl first. The match started at 6:00 pm.

Before heading to this game, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe faced each other in T20 on 11 occasions where the Tigers won seven.

Mohammad Saifuddin backed to T20I cricket after a layoff of five months due to a back injury. 

Before the T20I series, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe played a one-off Test and three ODIs in the ongoing contest with Bangladesh won all of them.
