Bangladesh seeks world community’s effective role on Rohingya

Secretariat Correspondent: Foreign Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Md Shahidul Haque urged the world community to play an effective role in resolving to the ongoing Rohingya crisis.
He made the urge at an ambassador level summit of OIC (Organization of the Islamic Conference) and a dialogue of International Peace Institute in New York Friday (March 1).
Foreign Affairs Secretary focused the background and current situation of Rohingya crisis, in the events, according to a press release issued by the Bangladesh Permanent Mission at the UN on Saturday.
Shahidul Haque said Bangladesh is seeking ASEAN’s (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) cooperation apart from continuing the bilateral efforts with Myanmar. OIC, UN and UN’s associate bodies are continuing the process for finding out a solution to the ongoing Rohingya crisis.
He requested the international communities to play effective and helpful roles so that Rohingya problem get solved and any recurrence doesn’t happen.
Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative to the UN Masud Bin Momen moderated the OIC’s envoy level summit while International Peace Institute Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Adam Lupel moderated the dialogue.
