Bangladesh team depart for Sri Lanka

Sport Desk: Bangladesh national cricket team on Monday left Dhaka for their month long tour of Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh will play 2 Tests, 3 ODIs and 2 T20Is against Sri Lanka in the tour.

A flight of SriLankan Airlines carrying the Tigers departed from the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 2.00pm.

However, three senior cricketers - Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah did not join the team as they are playing in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in United Arab Emirates.

Prior to the Test series, Bangladesh will play a two-day practice match at Moratuwa on 2 March.

The first Test will be held from 7 March at Galle International Stadium. On 15 March, the second Test will commence at the P Sara Oval, Colombo, which incidentally will be the 100th for Tigers.

The first and second one-day matches will be held at Dambulla on 25 and 28 March. The last game of the series will be played at the SSC Ground, Colombo on 1 April.

The tour will end with two T20I matches at the R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo on 4 and 6 April respectively.
