Banks, NBR offices, to stay open on Saturday

Staff Correspondent: Branches of commercial banks and field offices of the National Board of Revenue will remain open on Saturday for facilitating tax payment by taxpayers.

National Board of Revenue (NBR) and Bangladesh Bank (BB) confirmed the matter.

The NBR instructed its field-level income tax, customs and value-added tax offices to take necessary measures so that taxpayers can pay their taxes on the last day, which falls on a weekly holiday (June 30), of the outgoing fiscal year of 2017-2018.

Besides, Bangladesh Bank also issued a circular asking the chief executive officers of the scheduled banks to keep their branches open on June 30 (Saturday).
