Beef to be sold at Tk 250 kg, if…

Staff Correspondent: Rabiul Alam, secretary general of Dhaka Metropolitan Meat Traders' Association, has vowed to sell beef at Tk 250 per kilogram if charge (hasil) is fixed at Tk 100.

He said, "Lessee of Gabtoli cattle market takes overcharge of Tk five or six thousand for a single cattle. It is impossible to flourish the sector paying such overcharges."

"If charge (hasil) is fixed at Tk 100 per cattle, we promise to sell beef at Tk 250 a kg," he added.

Rabiul Alam came up with the statement at a press briefing at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Friday.

He said lessee does not follow rules and regulations. They do not abide by the conditions. They always try to create trouble.
