Biman hijacker carried a toy pistol: Police

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: The suspected Biman hijacker, who has been killed in a commando operation, was carrying a toy pistol, according to police.

Chattogram Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mahabubor Rahman confirmed the matter on Sunday night.

Mahabubor Rahman said, “The gun with him is actually fake, a toy pistol. Besides, he was not carrying any explosives at his chest. Police investigation is underway to identify his real name.”

Earlier the hijacker made a failed attempt to enter the cockpit of a Biman Bangladesh flight scheduled to fly for Dubai from Dhaka via Chattogram on Sunday evening. Later, he was killed in a fight-minutes long commando operation.
