Biman pilot among 4 militants held

Staff Correspondent: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) held four militants including a co-pilot (first officer) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines for allegedly planning to carry out of subversive activities.

RAB-4 held them from Darus Salam area of the capital early Tuesday.

The pilot was identified as Sabbir Rahman. He was an associate of militant Abdullah who was killed in an operation at Darus Salam militant den in the capital.

Mizanur Rahman, Senior Assistant Director (Legal and Media), confirmed the news.

Details in this regard will be briefed at 4:00pm.

When contacted, Taslima Akter, Assistant Public Relations Officer of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, said they knew nothing over the detention of Sabbir.

She, however, said one Sabbir was suspended for his alleged involvement in linking with slain militant Abdullah.
