Block raid underway at Savar

Staff Correspondent: Police on Wednesday started block raid on a number of houses in Kaundia union areas of Savar suspecting the presence of militants.

Sources said that more than three hundred policemen joined the drive.

Confirming the matter, Dhaka district police senior ASP Nazmul Hasan Firoz told risingbd.com that the drive is underway led by Dhaka district's Superintendent of Police (SP) Shah Mizan.

"There is no way to go there without boat as the area is surrounded by river. So, militants and drug peddlers might build their den there," he added.
