Boat capsizes in Padma, 5 missing

Staff Correspondent: Five people went missing as a boat capsized in the River Padma in Rajshahi during a norwester.

The missing people are- Rafiq, 30, Tanim, 8, Asadul, 30, Ahad, 10 and another one remained unidentified instantly.

Farhad Hossain, senior station officer of Rajshahi Sadar fire Service confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.

He said that the victims went to the River on Sunday evening. At one stage, the boat carrying seven passengers sank in the river. One of the passengers managed to swim ashore but five others went missing.

Divers of Fire Service and Civil Defence in Rajshahi are conducting a search in the river since this morning, he added.
