Australian embassy threatened to blow off

Staff Correspondent: Bomb threats have been made to Australian embassy in Dhaka's Gulshan via email on Tuesday.

Gulshan police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Bakar Siddique confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.

Abu Bakar Siddique said a threatening email message had been sent to Australia's embassy in Gulshan. Someone sent the email demanding Tk5 lakh from Australia's High Commissioner to Dhaka.

Otherwise the Australian embassy would be blown off, the message revealed.

Following the threat, additional security measures have been taken in the embassy area, OC added.
