Book Fair deferred by 1 day

Ekushey Book Fair-2020 has been deferred by one day due to the city corporation elections slated for February 1.   

Habibullah Siraji, director general of Bangla Academy said, due to the rescheduled mayoral polls in Dhaka, Bangla Academy deferred the launch of Ekushey Book Fair. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the fair on February 2.

West Bengal poet Shankha Ghosh, Egyptian writer, journalist and researcher Mohsen Al Arishi and other prominent figures will join the book fair this year.

Every year, the Amar Ekushey Book Fair was traditionally inaugurated by the premier of the country on February 1.
