‘Books hurting religious sentiments will not be published’

Staff Correspondent: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia on Tuesday said, “At the upcoming Amar Ekushey Book Fair, no book publishing house will be given any opportunity to publish books that hurt religious sentiments.”

Legal actions will be taken against those who will be found publishing the books that hurt religious sentiments, he said.

The DMP boss came up with the comments while talking to reporters after visiting the Bangla Academy and its adjacent Suhrawardy Udyan grounds set for the fair.

The book fair is scheduled to begin from February 1 at Bangla Academy and its adjacent Suhrawardy Udyan grounds.
