Sports Desk: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Monday appointed bowling coach Courtney Walsh as the Tigers' head coach for the upcoming Nidahas Trophy T20I tri-series scheduled to begin from March 6 in Sri Lanka.
After the appointment, BCB President Nazmul Hassan Papon said, "We have appointed Courtney Walsh only for the upcoming Nidahas Trophy T20I tri-series, giving him charge of the Tigers' head coach. He is much experienced and respected by all. I think no one will raise questions over his temporary appointment."
Bangladesh have been playing without a head coach since the departure of Chandika Hathurusingha, who now manages Sri Lanka.
The Tigers recently played a tri-nation series and a Test and T20 series against Sri Lanka on home soil without a head coach.
The Tigers will play their first match of the upcoming tri-nation series against in-form India in Colombo on 8 March.
