'Bring new leadership leaving Khaleda-Tarique'

Staff Correspondent: Criticizing BNP's political activities, Awami League joint secretary general Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said bring new leadership leaving corrupt leaders.

The Awami League made the opinion while addressing a discussion organized by Bangladesh Village Doctor Welfare Association at Kazi Bashir auditorium of metropolitan Nattay Mancha on Wednesday noon.

Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said, "BNP is a corrupt political party. It was proved from the party's beginning. BNP founder Ziaur Rahman formed the party when there was a break-up game in Bangladesh. He broke other parties. So, he can never be a promoter of democracy. He (Ziaur Rahman) gave scope war criminals to do politics in Bangladesh."

"In their constitution there was a point that no corrupt or punished person can be a leader of BNP. But, BNP removed the section as Khaleda Zia and Tarique are sentenced as corrupt one," he said.

Aiming BNP leaders, Hanif also said, "Those who are observing programme for Khaleda, Tarique, please leave your political leaders if you want to do politics for people."

Labour and Manpower Affairs Secretary Habibur Rahman Siraj, Dhaka Metropolitan unit joint secretary general Abdul Haque Sabuj and others attended the function.
