Bullet-hit bodies of 2 drug traders found in Cox's Bazar

Cox's Bazar Correspondent: Police recovered the bullet-hit bodies of two drug traders from separate spots in the district on Friday morning.

The deceased were identified as Aktar Kamal, union parishad member of Sabrang union of Teknaf and Mostak Ahmed, 32, son of Anwar Hossain.

In-charge (IC) of Himchari police outpost of the Marine Drive Street Monirul Islam said, on information that gunfight took place in Dariyanagar Bridge No-2, police forces went to the spot and found a bullet hit body of an indentified man. Meanwhile, 1000 pieces of Yaba tablets, a gun and four round of bullets were recovered from the spot.

Later, locals identified the deceased as Aktar Kamal. He was a top listed Yaba trader.

On the other hand, police recovered another bullet-hit body from Pahartoli area of Maheshkhali.

Maheshkhali police station officer-in-charge Pradip Kumar Das said, on information that two groups of drug traders locked into gunfight in the area on Thursday night, police rushed to the spot. Meanwhile, sensing presence of police, traders opened fire aiming the law enforcers. At one stage, miscreants fled the scene. Later, police found a bullet-hit body of Mostak Ahmed and 1000 Yaba pills, four guns and four rounds of bullets from the spot.

The body was sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, OC added.
