Bus catches fire in city, 9 burnt

Staff Correspondent: At least nine people sustained burn injury as the gas cylinder of a passenger bus near the capital's Farmgate exploded on Saturday.

The injured are - Akash, Rana, Hridoy, Rifat, Rayhan, Hira, Kabbo, Roushan and Saurav.

The gas cylinder exploded with a deafening bang when the 'Raida Paribahan' bus reached Alrazi Hospital in Farmgate around 11:00am, leaving the nine youths injured.

Later, the burn injured people were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Burn unit's residential surgeon Partha Shankar Paul said that the injured are safe now after taking primary treatment.

Tejgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Majharul Islam confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.
