Bus helper held for running over Abrar in Dhaka

Senior Correspondent: The bus driver’s helper involved in a road crash which killed student Abrar Ahmed Chowdhury in Dhaka was arrested on Tuesday night.

The law enforcers also arrested the bus helper from the capital, DB police sources confirmed on Wednesday.

Obaidur Rahman, additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Media and Public Relations Division said that the mystery of Abrar murder case has been revealed.

A press conference will be held in this regard, he added.

On March 19 (Tuesday), the Suprovat Paribahan bus rammed Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) student Abrar Ahmed Chowdhury in front of Jamuna Future Park in Dhaka, leaving him dead on the spot.

Later, victim’s father filed a murder case.

Protesting the incident, agitated students staged demonstration which continued till two days.
