Bus kills 2 garment workers: Driver sent to jail

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has sent Junayed, driver of Suprovat Paribahan bus, to jail over the incident of killing two garment workers in road crash in the capital’s Malibag.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahinur Rahman passed the order on Wednesday.

Faruk Khan, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Hatirjheel Police Station, also Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, produced him before the court and filed petition to keep him in jail for the sake of investigation until probe ends.

Two garment workers- Nahida Akter Poly, 19, and Mim Akter, 14, were killed by a bus of Suprovat Paribahan (Dhaka Metro-BA- 11-9613) at Chouwdhury Para in the capital’s Malibag on Tuesday (January 01).
