Bus-pickup collision kills 2 in Rangpur

Staff Correspondent, Rangpur: Two people were killed and at least twenty others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a pickup at Ikorchali in Taraganj upazila of Rangpur district on Wednesday evening.

The deceased were identified as Shahabuddin, 60 and Ratna, 32. Both of them were bus passengers.

Zinnat Ali, officer-in-charge (OC) of Taraganj police station, said a Rangpur-bound bus from Thakurgaon collided head-on with a pickup coming from the opposite direction, leaving two bus passengers dead on the spot and at least twenty others injured.

The bodies of the deceased were sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital while the injured were rushed to the hospital for treatment, the OC added.
