Bus-truck collision kills 2 in Gopalganj

Gopalganj Correspondent: At least two people were killed and 10 others were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck on Dhaka-Khulna highway in Gonapara area of Sadar upazila early Monday.
The deceased were identified as Mala Begum, 35, wife of Sobhan, a resident of Morelganj upazila in Bagerhat and the bus driver Sheikh Shahin, 30, son of Sheikh Kabir, a resident of Bogail village in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur district.
The accident took place around 2:00am.
Gopalganj Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Selim Reza said that the Khulna-bound 'Banaful Paribahan' bus collided with a truck from opposite direction in the area, leaving the duo dead on the spot and ten other bus passengers injured.
Later, on information, police and fire service officials rushed to the spot and sent to injured to Gopalganj General Hospital.
The dead bodies were kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC added.
