Businessman held on vote buying charge

Staff Correspondent: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained a businessman on charges of doling money and materials out among people to buy votes.
The detainee is identified as Ali Haydar, Managing Director of an importer company.
Sources said that the law enforcers detained him from Motijheel area around 11:00am. Meanwhile, Tk eight crore cash were seized from him along with a cheque of Tk10 crore.
RAB legal and media wing senior assistant director ASP Mizanur Rahman confirmed the matter.
