Staff Correspondent: A case has been filed in connection with the deaths of ten women in a stampede when thousands of people gathered to collect iftar items provided by an industrial group at Satkania upazila in Chattogram.
Mohammad Islam, husband of deceased Hasina Akhter, filed the case with Satkania Police Station on Tuesday.
Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Satkania Police Station, confirmed the filing of the case.
Md Shahjahan, managing director of Kabir Steel Re-rolling Mills (KSRM), and five to six unidentified persons were made accused in the case.
Ten women were killed and around 20 others injured in a stampede when over 30,000 people gathered to collect iftar items provided by KSRM at a village in the upazila yesterday.
