Chance to export manpower in Malaysia should be utilised

Door to export manpower in Malaysia from Bangladesh has been opened up after a long wait. State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam confirmed the matter after a ministry level meeting held over manpower market issue between the two countries on Friday. This is really good news for Bangladesh indisputably.

The state minister said process to export manpower in Malaysia will begin in online in this week. Meanwhile, required documents of six thousands workers have been attested. Documents of more 50,000 workers will be attested within very shortest possible time. The government is advancing to export huge manpower in Malaysia this year, he said.

Saudi Arabia in last August formally lifted ban on manpower export from Bangladesh. This ban lasted for six years. As a result, employment opportunities for Bangladeshi workers were created at 48 sectors in that country. Now new door has been opened up in Malaysia in exporting manpower.

Now the country’s economic base stands on a solid pillar with the earnings sent by the expatriate Bangladeshis. For this reason, the recent global economic recession cannot touch Bangladesh economy which is very positive sign for the country. Keeping it in mind, the incumbent government is taking steps to establish various training institutes in a bid to build skilled manpower.

Bangladeshi workers have enough goodwill abroad. Malaysia is no exception of it. But according to media reports in different time, we have seen that the country’s goodwill is tarnished due to some fraudulent people. Those fraudulent people try to send people abroad through illegal means in name of manpower export. Many people are being victimised by them. The victimised people face extreme persecution. They are losing their all belongings. Many valuable lives are lost. Overall, country’s image has been tarnished.

A negative impression has been created abroad even in the manpower export sector of the country due to some fraudulent people. These human traffickers and brokers should be uprooted at any cost. Steps should be taken to raise public awareness in this regard. The opportunity to export Bangladesh manpower in Malaysia should be utilised. We should be very aware of the issue so that nothing can hamper the process.
