Charge framed against Moudud in graft case

Staff Correspondent: A court in Dhaka on Wednesday framed charges against BNP standing committee member Moudud Ahmed in a case filed for amassing illegal wealth.
Judge KM Imrul Kayes of the Special Judge Court-6 of Dhaka passed the order, rejecting Moudud's plea to acquit him of the charges.
The court also fixed July 26 for recording statements of the witnesses of the case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
ACC deputy director Shariful Haque Siddiqui filed the case against the BNP leader on September 16, 2007, for hiding information about his wealth worth TK 4.50 crore and amassing illegal wealth of more than TK 9.4 crore.
ACC deputy director Sharifur Haque Siddiqui filed the charge sheet in court in the case on May 14, 2008.
Barrister Moudud was recently evicted from his Gulshan residence following a Supreme Court order.
