Charge sheet submitted in Tk 243cr coal embezzlement case

Staff Correspondent: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has submitted charge sheet against former managing director (MD) of Barapukuria Coal Mining Company Ltd (BCMCL) Habib Uddin Ahmed and 23 other officials of the company in a case filed over coal embezzlement of Tk 243.28 crore.

ACC deputy director Md Shamsul Alam on Sunday submitted the charge sheet to the integrated district office in Dinajpur which will be later presented before the court.

On July 24, BCMCL General manager (administration) Anisur Rahman filed a case against 19 officials with Parbatipur Police Station over the shortage of 1,44,644 tone coal.

The ACC is investigating into the allegations as it’s scheduled.

The other accused in the case are: General Manager (Mine and Operation Abu Taher Md Nuruzzaman, Dupty General Manager Khademul Islam, Managing Director Habib Uddin Ahmed, General Manager (General Service) Masudur Rahman Hawlader, Manager (Production Management) Ashok Kumar Hawlader, Manager (Maintenance and Operation) Arifur Rahman, Manager (Design, Construction and Maintenance) Jahidul Islam, Deputy Manager (Safety Management) Akramul haque, Deputy Manager (Coal Handling and Management) Khalilur Rahman, Deputy Manager (Maintenance and Operation) Morsheduzzaman, Deputy Management (production management) Habibur Rahman, Deputy Manager (Mine Development) Jahidur Rahman, Deputy Manager (Ventilation Management) of Satyen Nath Barman, Manager (Security) Syed Imam Hassan, Deputy Manager (Mine and Planning Operation) Jobayer Ali, former General Manager (Finance) Abdul Mannan Patwari and Gopal Chandra Sahah, former general manager (Exploration) and company secretary Abdul Kashem Prodhaniya and Mosharraf Hossain.
