Children delighted after receiving Eid gifts from PM

Gopalganj Correspondent: Some 300 children of Sheikh Russel Distressed Children Training and Rehabilitation Center of Tungipara in Gopalganj feel joyous as they received Eid gifts from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday.
“I never dreamed to receive gifts from PM’s hands. I saw her very closely today. I’m very much delighted,” Safia expressed her feelings after receiving the gifts.
Like Safia, Momtaz, Moriyam and other orphans, who hailed from different districts of the country, are also happy after getting the gifts. They are overjoyed as they received gifts from PM’s hands directly.
PM’s younger sister Sheikh Rehana, her cousin Sheikh Salauddin Jewel, Gopalgang district Awami League president Chowdhury Emdadul Haque, general secetary Mahabub Ali Khan and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Mokhlesur Rahman Sarker were present in the gift distribution ceremony.
Earlier, the premier offered ziarat at the mazar of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the morning.
Accompanied by Sheikh Rehana PM offered Fateha and joined a munajat (prayer) seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of the Father of the Nation, Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib and other martyrs of the August 15, 1975 massacre.
Prayers were also offered seeking divine blessings for good health and long life of Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana and their family members as well as continued peace, progress and prosperity of the nation.
She also exchanged views with local Awami League (AL) leaders at Bangabandhu Bhaban.
Later, she left Tungipara for Dhaka by a helicopter around 1:50pm.
