Circular bus service starts in Dhanmondi-Azimpur route

Staff Correspondent: A circular bus service has been launched on Dhanmondi-Science lab-New Market-Azimpur route.

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sayeed Khokon inaugurated the new bus service from capital’s Kalabagan field on Wednesday.

The mayor said, “The committee has worked properly according to the direction of the Prime Minister. As per of the task, we have launched the circular bus service. We hope the traffic jam will be reduced following the service.”

In the function, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayor Atiqul Islam said “We will ensure a safe road working together. The initiatives will be visible soon.”



DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said, "We want to bring discipline in public transportation system within next 15 days."

"The circular bus service has been launched in two routes today. We will start two more in Uttara and Motijheel areas. As a result, the number of private and Non-mechanical vehicles will be reduced."

The bus service will take and drop passengers from 36 points on a circular route. There will be fixed ticket counters. Passenger will have to take tickets maintaining discipline. The lowest fare is Tk 10, from the first stop to the second, while the highest fare is set at Tk 30.

BRTC Chairman Moshiur Rahman, BRTA Chairman Fariduddin Bhuiyan and others attended the function.
